So...exciting news!
So I was looking through my e-mail when I got home from class. I was mostly hoping to see e-mails back from managers and landlords with costs of apartments. However, I came across this e-mail.

It is with great pleasure that we inform you that “The Pardoner’s Tale” has been selected to be the spring senior narrative project. We are giving thought to who the remainder of your team...
So now that my pitch is over...
It went really well. My screenwriting teacher, Terry, who had read my script in the previous class praised it in front of everybody and my directing teacher, Jack, said that he was confident in me as a filmmaker.
So we’ll have to see how well it actually went when we hear the results in about a month or two.
So Pitching...
It’s in two hours. I’m a nervous wreck. I’m practicing my pitch right now in my room. I seriously have no clue how it’s going to go. Wish me luck!

Holy crap, it’s tomorrow. I’m very nervous. I feel fairly prepared but we’ll see how much of my brain dies when I’m standing in front of all of the professors tomorrow.
Electives...what?
So, we have advising day next week. I’ve been doing the math and I need at least 23 hours to graduate. I have about 11 hours of classes left in my major, including internship. So I have about 12 hours of electives to take next year in order to get enough hours to graduate. So I actually have to search for classes to take instead of filling up with classes from my major. Lack of Sleep...catching up.
So, I’ve been lacking sleep this weekend, getting up early and partying late. I was trying to work on stuff for pitching but then my head started hurting and now I feel exhausted. Well, at least I got stuff accomplished with one of my pitches today.

Ahhh, Pitching!
It’s in a week. I can’t help but be nervous. At least I know for sure that I have two stories to pitch. One which I wrote and the other I didn’t.
I can’t wait for pitching to be over, I just want to know if I get to Direct or not.
Too Early...
I’ve got to be at the studio tomorrow at 9am for my Music and Audio class. My earliest class this semester is 11am…so yes 9am is early for me. I also have to narrate a fake kleenex commercial…fun.

Internships, Thesis, Editing, Ahh!!
Life as a filmmaker is hard. I do have to remind myself at times that though I am stressed I am doing what I love.
I am still in the process of applying for internships. I just applied to Warner Bros. yesterday. I checked Pixar yesterday for fun but usually they only have animator or computer program internships. When I checked yesterday though they had the editorial internship for this summer!!...

So...my scene.
It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. When you have a time constraint and people watching your every move it can be stressful. Let’s hope my scripted scene turns out really well.

ACTORS
I found some, now I just have to hope that my scene doesn’t crash and burn tomorrow. I get to direct a scene with my whole class watching and worse with Jack my professor watching. So…yeah, I’m a little nervous.

HOLY SHIT ACTORS
Well, I’m not really mad at the actors but the lack of them that are free the time that I need them. I need two female actors for Monday and they have to be free from 3:30-4:15 because that’s when my scene is being shot. (I also have to shoot the scene in front of everybody in the class so they can judge how I’m directing the scene.)
It seems that all the actors are in class or...

So...my first cut.
Well you know how I said I would get trashed…I was wrong.
I was completely destroyed. No positives what so ever.
As much as I try to tell myself that people learn more from their mistakes than their successes it’s still hard not to feel like a failure. It is not a good day in this filmmakers life.

Can't sleep
I have to get up early(ish) tomorrow to show the 1st cut of Moses Cove to our directing professor tomorrow.
I was trying to go to sleep early but I’m too nervous. I’ve heard that typically 1st cuts get ripped apart. I’m just not sure I’m ready for a project that I’ve spent already spent about 3 months editing to be trashed.
I guess I’ll have to get used to it...

They are awful, maybe it’s because I’m not that creative. If you don’t know what an Open Scene is it’s pretty much a serious of dialogue between two or more characters that has no story.

I love editing, don’t get me wrong but I really don’t feel like doing it tonight. However I have to make sure my edit isn’t total shit for my director on Saturday. Ugh.
What isn’t helping the matter is that REDBOX texted me with a free movie promo that expires tomorrow.

Internships
Now that I’ve really started applying to internships I’m pretty damn scared. My dream is to get an internship in L.A and not just because my boyfriend lives there but that’s because it’s the best place for a filmmaker to work. I know I’m good enough to intern at these companies, I just hope that the people reading my resume sees that I am.
